Pamela Lynn Slocum Gruen

July 13, 1952 — April 22, 2021

Pamela Lynn Slocum Gruen

After being born in an army hospital in Massachusetts in 1952, Pam and her parents settled in southwest Florida. She met the love of her life, David Gruen, at Bible college in Nyack, NY, and became his bride in 1972. They moved back to the gulf coast and raised two children, John and Julie, in her hometown of Port Charlotte, FL. As empty nesters, Pam and Dave moved to Toccoa and ultimately Cumming, Georgia, where they enjoyed traveling, exploring, and being involved in the local church and community. Pam loved finding and creating beauty, whether through crafts, gardening, or birdwatching. She enjoyed working in the field of education, shared a passion for culture, nature, and learning with her family and supported her husband and children with all her heart and soul. She was not afraid to speak her mind but was always ready to help someone in need and make them feel welcome. The Lord did the same when he brought her home to heaven on April 22, 2021. Though a few sentences cannot encapsulate a life, they can begin to convey the great loss we've experienced at the passing of our beloved wife, mother, friend, and child of God, Pamela Lynn Slocum Gruen.

Memorial services are scheduled for 2:00 PM Wednesday April 28, 2021 at the Ingram Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor John Harvey officiating. The family will receive friends from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM Wednesday prior to the service.
