Patricia Bird Myers

Patricia Bird Myers, (88) beloved mother and grandmother, passed away peacefully on February 8th, 2021 in her Suwanee, GA home surrounded by family. Born in Decatur, GA in 1932 to Raymond and Lila Fair Bird, she was a multi-generational southerner with a quick wit and the right amount of 'sass' to keep things lively. A 1949 graduate of Decatur Girls High, she was a brilliant woman who as a young adult was highly involved in politics, ultimately leading to a degree in political science. After a long career in finance in the energy and cellular industries, she retired to spend more time playing bridge with friends and helping to take care of her grandchildren. She and her grandchildren were blessed to have been such a large part of each other's lives from infancy to adulthood. In her words her children and grandchildren were her most important achievement and she adored them all.

Patricia is predeceased by her first husband, Dr. Henry Harper Butterworth, with whom she shared three children. She was also predeceased by her husband of almost 30 years, Donald O Myers. She is survived by her three children, Susan Kay Paul (Joe), Cumming, GA, Henry Harper Butterworth, III (Julie), Rio Verde, AZ and Pamela Butterworth Bartz (Gregg Harrison), Suwanee, GA and the six adored grandchildren: J. Brian Hart, Michael E. Hart, Charles H. Butterworth, L. Taylor Bartz, Cassidy A. Bartz, and Christopher R. Bartz. She will be laid to rest on Saturday February 27th in the Decatur Cemetery alongside her beloved mother, husband, and grandparents. She will be dearly missed. In lieu of flowers, Patricia requested that donations be made to the JDRF (Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation) at JDRF Georgia Chapter, 3525 Piedmont Road, NE Building 6, Suite 300, Atlanta, GA 30305.

Ingram Funeral Home and Crematory, 210 Ingram Ave; Cumming, GA is in charge of the arrangements.
