Pedro Osvaldo Arocho, of Gainesville, GA passed away peacefully at the age of 82, in Jacksonville, FL surrounded by his wife, his daughter and his oldest grandson by his side. Pedro was born in Lares, Puerto Rico to the late Vicente Arocho and Arcadia Vera. Mr. Arocho retired to tend to the family Coffee farm following a career in Financial Services.
Pedro had a kind and gentle soul, always willing to help others. He was a beautiful person who spread joy and happiness wherever he went. He was a wonderful father who was always there when we needed him. He put his family first. The simplest pleasures in life brought great joy to Pedro. He loved a quiet evening with family and a home-cooked meal. He used to always say: “Do what’s right and do what’s good. Be kind and help others.” His life was a living example of his favorite Bible verse, Ephesians 4:32 — “And be kind and compassionate to one another, forgiving one another, just as God also forgave you in Christ.”
He was a devout Catholic and his Faith never quivered. He loved going to Church and volunteered for many years with the Church Choir and organized many other religious-oriented events. He was the keeper of the family Chapel for decades. He spent his free time woodworking, gardening and taking care of his pets. He was always there to help with any household related projects and was very good at his craft. He loved spending as much time as possible with his children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He was very loved and will be missed terribly. He had a wonderful life and thank you to all who made it so.
Pedro was preceded in death by his sister Maria G. Arocho and his first wife Diana Garcia.
He is survived by his loving wife of 21 years, Diana Candelaria; children, Pedro V. Arocho; Diana & Johnny Candela; stepchildren, Jessica Velazquez, Juan Gabriel Soto; Siblings, Jorge Arocho, Jose W. Arocho, Edwin Arocho, Pablo Arocho, Robert Arocho, Nereida Arocho, Delia Arocho, Luz Maria Arocho, Lydia Arocho; grandchildren, Johnny “JJ” Candela, Jr., Jean-Alexei Hernandez, Yesenia Estrada, Kevin J. Aquino, and Mariangely Aquino.
