Peter Roberts Madden

Mr. Peter Roberts Madden, age 67, of Gainesville, GA passed away on October 11, 2016 at his home surrounded by his wife and children.
Peter Roberts Madden, son of the late Harold Madden and Betty Lou Roberts Madden, was born September 14, 1949 in Cincinnati, OH. He grew up in New Orleans, LA and moved to Houston, TX as a teenager. He attended Jesuit High School in Houston, TX, followed by the University of Houston, where he played basketball with the legendary Elvin Hayes. He finished his education at the University of Texas, Austin.
Peter Madden dedicated his life''s work to cultivating the wine and spirit industry within the United States. He found beauty in the art of winemaking and truly enjoyed the life experiences shared over a glass of wine at the family table.
He married Kathleen Mary Kay Stamand on April 29, 1978 in Miami, FL. He is survived by his loving wife of 38 years. He is lovingly remembered by his son Tyson Arthur Madden, daughter Meredith Madden Jain, son-in-law Vikas Jain, and grandchildren Hendrix Jain, Vivia Mae Jain, and Holden Jain.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00pm, Saturday October 15, 2016 at Pleasant Grove Church located at 9730 Waldrip Rd, Gainesville, GA 30506. Funeral arrangements provided by Byars Funeral Home. Fellowship will follow the service at the Church and continue at the Madden Family home.
