Peter Alan Swanson, Sr., age 81, of Cumming, GA,  passed away Tuesday, August 30, 2022. He was born in 1940, to the late Robert Severin Swanson & Ingrid Viola Carlson. Peter was a United States Army veteran and enjoyed model trains. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his brother, Robert Stephen Swanson.

He is survived by his loving wife of 55 years, Edna Spiers Swanson; son, Peter A. Swanson, Jr. of Oakwood, GA; sisters-in-law, Virginia L. Spiers of Cumming, GA, and Geraldine Redden Swanson of New York; cousins, Charles Carlson of New York;  Donald Carlson of Virginia;  Jeff Schurmann of N. Carolina;  Christa Schurmann (god daughter) of New Jersey;  Greg Wedell of Florida; Raymond Wedell of Virginia; nieces and nephews, Kirsten Swanson Basso (god daughter), Tara Swanson, and  Robert Swanson all of New York.

A memorial service will be held Tuesday, September 13, 2022 at 10:00 a.m. in the chapel of Ingram Funeral Home in Cumming, GA with Pastor Larry Deckard officiating.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to The Wounded Warrior Project; K9s for Warriors or the American Heart Association in memory of Peter Swanson.
