Porter Russell Long

Porter Russell Long, 89, of Cumming, GA passed away peacefully on Saturday, July 25. He was a United States Navy veteran and was also a self employed cabinet maker. Mr. Long was a member of Good Shepherd Catholic Church. He is preceded in death by his wife, Shirley Heaston Long, and parents, Pope and Ethyl Long. He is survived by his children, Jim (Lisa) Long, of Cumming, GA; Tom (GenEve Slater) Long, of Costa Mesa, CA; Bill (Sharon) Long, of Tucson, AZ; grand-children, Christopher, Andrew, Jonathan, Elizabeth, Megan, Melanie, Erin, and Samantha of Cumming, GA; and sister, Shirley Vrieling, of Cottonwood, AZ. Funeral services will be held Wednesday, July 29, 2015, 11:00 a.m. at Good Shepherd Catholic Church, Cumming, GA with Fr. Frank Richardson officiating. A graveside service will be held on August 5, 2015 at Fairhaven Memorial Park, Santa Ana, CA.
