Ralph Michael Lamaitis, age 67, of Cumming, went home to be with his Lord and Savior on January 27. Born in New Berlin, NY in 1948, he was the son of the late Irene (Lewis) and Ralph John Lamaitis. Ralph spent many years in and around Chittenango, NY. He served our country in the Marine Corps (1968-1970) including a tour in Vietnam. Ralph retired from law enforcement after 21 years, as a patrolman in Manlius, NY, Police Chief in Cazenovia, NY, and ending his career as Madison County Undersheriff. He moved to Cumming, GA, in 1992, and drove a tractor trailer locally for JB Hunt for 17 years, with over a million safe driving miles. He is survived by his wife of 36 years, Kay Storer Lamaitis; four children, Joshua (Erin) Lamaitis, Sarah (Branon) Hammond of Dahlonega, Jeannie Lamaitis, Brian Lamaitis of Chittenango, NY; six grandchildren; sisters and brothers-in-law, Laura Thayer, Sonny (Jackie) Storer, Alan (Sherry) Storer, Karen (Ronald) Minor; numerous nephews and nieces. Funeral Services will be held on Saturday, January 30, at 4:00 PM, at the chapel of Ingram Funeral Home with Rev. Jason Hamby and Pastor Gerhard Michael officiating. The interment will follow at Bethel Baptist Church Cemetery in Dawsonville. The family will receive friends at Ingram Funeral Home on Saturday, January 30, from 1:00 PM until the hour of service.
