Ralph William Perry

Ralph William Perry, 82 of Cumming, Georgia, passed away peacefully in the early morning hours of March 16, 2024, with his family by his side. Mr. Perry was a man of strong Christian faith and loved the Lord, his family and his church more than anything else. He was a member of Pleasant View Baptist Church where he served as a deacon and taught Sunday School for many years.

Mr. Perry was devoted to the citizens of the City of Cumming and leaves behind a legacy of service to his community. He retired from Sawnee EMC after 43 years and served the City of Cumming for 38 years as a City Councilman. He represented the City on the Georgia Mountains Regional Commission for 11 years. 

Mr. Perry was a member and past master of the Lafayette Masonic Lodge #44 and also a  ember of the Silver Shoals Chapter #14. He coached many little league sports for over 20 years, and also volunteered as a firefighter and the former Civil Defense Rescue Service. Through his dedication to his church and community, he inspired and mentored many adults and youth. His life was evidence of his love and devotion to God, his family, church and community. 

Mr. Perry is survived by his wife of 63 years, Joyce Phillips Perry, son Tim (Nancy) Perry, daughter Cindy (Mark) Coffman, and grandchildren Justin Coffman, Sam Coffman Caroline Perry. He was preceded in death by his parents, Bill and Carroll Perry, brothers Jack and Marcus Perry and granddaughter, Grayson Perry.

Funeral services will be held at 1:00 pm Tuesday, March 19, 2024, in the chapel of Ingram Funeral Home with Rev. Jackie Stewart, Rev. Mark Coffman, and Rev. Garry English officiating. Interment will follow at Sawnee View Gardens in Cumming, GA. The family will receive friends Monday, March 18, 2024, from 4:00 pm until 8:00 pm, and Tuesday, March 19, 2024 from 11:00 am until service time at 1:00 pm at Ingram Funeral Home, 210 Ingram Avenue, Cumming, GA 30040.
