A Texan through and through, Randal's love for his home state was exemplified by his passion for Texas football. His infectious enthusiasm for the game drew his family together, making them avid fans of the Texas Longhorns. Randal's famous barbecues and spirited tailgates became legendary among his circle of friends, showcasing his genuine love for bringing people together and creating cherished memories.

Family was everything to Randal, and witnessing the happiness of his loved ones was one of his greatest joys. Over the past year and a half, he celebrated the marriages of all three of his children, joyfully embracing the expanded family that resulted. Randal often joked that they were now the Brady Bunch, a loving family of eight. His generous spirit and eagerness to serve earned him the reputation of being a true friend, always there to support and care for others.

Throughout his life, Randal dedicated himself to serving others through his involvement with various boards and ministries. He selflessly devoted his time and talents to these organizations, making a positive impact in the lives of countless individuals. One of his passions was a ministry called Banja Restoration Mission, a school in Zambia that serves underserved orphans and children. Randal was looking forward to bringing awareness to the needs of the school, supporting the teachers and children to ensure they have access to quality education and a brighter future. His commitment to this cause was a testament to his compassionate heart and his desire to make a difference in the lives of those less fortunate.
