Randy Moore

Writing an obituary is never easy. But the task becomes exponentially more difficult when you are asked to honor with the written word a man as perfectly imperfect as Randy Moore. What a unique and powerful soul this man had! What a blessing he was to every life he touched. The best term we can think of to describe him is "One of a Kind". There will never be another man like him. Losing him so unexpectedly is a genuinely tragic event for everyone who ever knew him. All the people close to him were dependent on him in so many profound ways. His smile and his laugh were infectious. His love for those in his inner circle was clear, even if sometimes unspoken. Every generation, from kids to the elderly, loved being around him. We could mention how great of a police officer he was, the leader he was, or what a great husband he was for his wife Paige. We could write pages on how funny he was. But these things can be said of many people. What made him unique was that he was an incredible father, as evidenced by the intense love and respect his children have for him. He was an amazing friend, the best we've ever had. He made it his personal responsibility to maximize the joy of those he cared about through his wonderful sense of humor. He was larger than life which makes it all the more difficult to believe that he is gone. How could a man like him EVER be gone? A heart breaks in perfect negative correlation to the blessings the same heart has received. This is why our hearts are completely and totally shattered. His life brushing briefly against ours was a deeper blessing than any of us could have asked for and our gratitude to God for allowing us to know him is immeasurable. Go rest high on that mountain. We will see you again.

Randy is survived by his wife, Paige Moore; children, April Ward (Chris), Ryan Moore (Elizabeth), Ashley Richards (Cole), Emily Moore (Their mother Katie Moore), and Peyton Moore (His mother Sue Moore); stepdaughter, Alyssa McDaniel; grandchildren, Austyn, Rylen, Zachary, and Landyn; his parents, Micki and Oscar Jeter; and siblings Ron, Kathy, Jeff, and Mitch.
