Rev. Elvis Lamar Day

Rev. Elvis Lamar Day, age 71, of Dahlonega, GA, passed away Thursday, March 17th, 2022.  He was born in 1950, to the late Elvis Edwin and Mabel Frances Day. Lamar worked and retired from General Motors after 30 years. He was a minister and pastored several churches including, Island Ford Baptist Church, Oak Grove Baptist Church in Dahlonega, Sweetwater Baptist Church and Abundant Life Baptist Church. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his son, Anthony Day.

He is survived by his loving wife of 54 years, Sherry Day; son, Jason Day; grandchildren,  Austin Hunter Day, and Bethany Taylor (Jett) Davis; sister, Louise (David) Martin; sister-in-law, Teresa Mitchell; nieces and nephews,  Jesse, Amy, Casey, and Beth Mitchell, and Little David, Lisa, and Fran Martin; and one great grandbaby on the way, Jax Anthony Davis; along with many other loving relatives.

Funeral services will be held Sunday, March 20th, 2022, at 3:00 p.m. in the chapel of Ingram Funeral Home in Cumming, GA with Rev. Bacle Fowler, Rev. Darren Sams, and Rev. Mason Caine officiating.  The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Saturday from 1:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. and on Sunday from 9:00 a.m. until the hour of the service.
