Rev. Robert Q. Martin

Rev. Robert Quillen Martin, age 87, went to be with his Lord and Savior March 30, 2023, after an extended illness.

Robert is survived by his loving wife of 64 years, Shirley Martin; son, Keith Martin (spouse Dawn Martin); daughter, Angie McKinney (spouse Jon McKinney); grandchildren, Alex Martin, Jenna Bolton (spouse Benjamin Bolton), Quillen Vaughan (spouse Parker Vaughan); great-grandchild, Charlotte Bolton.

Robert was born in Cumming, Georgia to Buell and Edith Martin. He was predeceased by siblings: Earl W. Martin, Mary Alice Thomas, Charles “Buck” Martin, Donald W. Martin, Diane Gravitt. He was a long-time member of Coal Mountain Baptist Church and served as a Baptist Pastor in Forsyth and surrounding counties for over forty years.  He loved studying the Word of God and reading poetry.

Funeral services will be held Sunday, April 2, 2023, at 3:00 p.m. at Coal Mountain Baptist Church in Cumming, GA, with Rev. Danny Bennett, Rev. Larry Vaughn, and Rev. Gary Martin officiating. Interment will follow at Sawnee View Gardens. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Saturday, from 2:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. and on Sunday from 1:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m.
