Richard Joseph Faille, living recently in Blairsville and Alpharetta, went home with Jesus February 16, 2022 at the age of 87. He was born in Kingston NY to the late Harold and Elizabeth Faille.
Richard was known better by his nickname Dick, and lived a great adventurous life. He served in the US Navy from 1953 to 1957, and shortly after, he met his wife Jean while stock car driving - which to Jean’s chagrin was a lifelong love as well… although she got his vow in marriage early 1958.
Dick was a tireless, honest worker, raising up through the ranks of Honeywell and General Electric, retiring as one of 3 Regional Service Managers of GE Medical. He mastered motorcycle Enduro racing in his 50’s, raced Vintage Race Cars in his 60’s, being known as the driver of the bright yellow Flying Shoebox. Dick became an involved member at The House of Prayer and Antioch Baptist Church in Blairsville, participating in many service projects and feeding the poor.
He was preceded by his sister Grace, and survived by wife of 64 years Jean, brother Ed, daughter and son Dawn Richardson and Rich Faille; 8 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren.
A memorial and celebration of Dick’s life will take place Saturday, February 26, 2 pm and there will be visitation at 1pm until the time of the service.
Ingram Funeral Home & Crematory in Cumming Georgia is in charge of the arrangements.
In lieu of sending flowers, the family thanks you and asks that you would please donate in his honor to the Alzheimer’s Association alz.org
