Several years later, they moved up to Lake Forest, CA, where they spent most of their lives while he worked on the base at El Toro. Once fully retired, he spent many years traveling around Europe and the United States with his wife. In 2017, they moved to Cumming, GA to be closer to family. In the final years of his life, Richard faced the challenges of dementia. Though he often struggled to recognize his surroundings or remember the day, his deep love for his family remained unwavering. It was a poignant reminder of the connections that can endure even in the face of such difficulties. In lieu of flowers or donations, please honor the memories of those with dementia by living your life to the fullest and cherishing every moment.
