Richard William Miller, age 79, of Gainesville, passed away Tuesday, April 5, 2011. He most recently moved into Lanier Village Estates in Gainesville to enjoy a senior lifestyle, but instead was diagnosed with leukemia. He enjoyed the staff, who we are grateful to for their caring and nurturing style. A huge thank you is tendered from his family. He enjoyed his life with his wife Jane at their house on Lake Lanier for years. He liked working in his gardens, reading his books and had a great desire to travel. He owned the Baskin-Robbins ice cream store for several years. He loved to sing and dance and attempt playing on the piano and guitar. He had a strong desire to play and have fun and loved to talk with all. He is preceded in death by his wife, Mildred Jane Miller. Survivors include his children, Reed Miller and his wife Joni and daughter Emma from Flowery Branch, Rhonda L Estill and husband Rob and children, Robert and Alexandra from Suwanee, Cathy J. Dunn and husband John and children, Travis and Taylor from Griffin; sister Elaine Lundberg from Middleboro, MA. A small service will be performed on Monday, April 11th at 4:00 pm at Lanier Village Estates Chapel in Gainesville by Reverend Richard Evans. No reception. Ingram Funeral Home Crematory, Cumming, Georgia is in charge of arrangements.
