Rita B. Springfield

Rita B. Springfield, age 73, of Cumming passed away Sunday, February 28, 2016. A native of Effingham County, Rita was one of seven children and lived an exemplary life as a Christian and an American. Rita served humanity as a babysitter and housekeeper. She was a longtime member of Shores of Lanier Baptist Church and is preceded in death by her husband, Jimmy Lee Springfield. She will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her. Survivors include her sons, Jimmy Springfield, Robert Springfield, Richard Springfield, all of Cumming; grandchildren, Christian Springfield, Ashley O'Neil, Tess Penner, Beau Springfield and Hailey Springfield; great grandchildren, Anna Grace Nicholas, Eva O'Neil, Aliya Penner; sister, Maggie Braudy of Stockbridge; brother, Douglas Braudy of Stockbridge; several nieces, nephews, other relatives and adopted family. Funeral services will be held Saturday, March 5, at 12:00 noon at the Ingram Funeral Home Chapel with Fr. Frank Richardson officiating. Interment will follow at Sawnee View Gardens. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Saturday from 9:00 a.m. until the time of the service. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to assist the family with funeral expenses.
