Rita Mae Loeffler

Rita Loeffler was an inspiration to all who were blessed to have known her. She was born in Minneapolis, Minnesota on May 22, 1930. Rita was a strong and wonderful soul whose passion was her family and her faith of God and Catholic Religion. She overcame incredible sadness in her life but also experienced the wonderful joys of living through her family and friends with passion and perseverance. She is the perfect example of a life well lived and always seemed to make the best of it. Rita lived in many places during her life and you knew this by all the stories she shared about locations houses and life experiences, but not just from her from but from her family too. Outside her growing up in Minneapolis, she also resided in, Ohio, Florida and here in Georgia. Rita had a passion for renovations and making the home for her family "Loeffler" like, so she enjoyed making old things new, fun, and comfortable for those she loved so much. The stories of all these places always seemed to come up in family gatherings and around the dinner table. Rita worked hard throughout her life and instilled the value of hard work, ethics, perseverance, and passion for life and travel and the rewards that accompany that, in her children. From being a customer representative in an upscale clothing store, to her love of real-estate and later plastics sales, she made the best of all of them and was quite successful and incredibly inspiring to all of her children, friends and co-workers. At the age of 40 she began and owned her own real-estate company business in Tequesta, Florida, raising 7 children. While running her Real Estate business, though a passion of hers, what most don't know, is that what she earned was turned towards paying for her children's passion in racing motorcycles on weekends traveling from race to race. This was her way for all of her family to be together, enjoying each other. She loved the finer things in life but always had time for the little things too, she knew how to party but also how to take life seriously. Everyone who knew her will tell you she was charming, creative, detail-oriented and loved to laugh and make others laugh. Her hobbies included reading, gardening, sewing and cooking. She also loved to play games such as Monopoly, Crossword and Wheel of Fortune. She was the best at Monopoly and was extremely competitive too, a value she instilled in her children as well. She loved shopping, bowling, reading, driving in her Mercedes and being with people. However nothing was more important than her children and grandchildren. She was and still is an inspiration to all and would do anything and everything for him She lived a long and wonderful life with her husband Bill until his passing in 1999 and then moved to Atlanta in 2000. She continued to enjoy her life and we were all blessed with her love until the early hours of May 10, 2016 when she succumbed to cancer. However never alone she was surrounded by her children who took care of her as she had taken care of them with passion and love. Rita will now live a wonderful life in eternity with the loves in her life that preceded her including her beloved husband William "Bill" T. Loeffler Sr. and her daughter Elizabeth "Lisa" Ann Loeffler. She is survived by her daughter Joan and husband David, grandchildren Sloth and Rachel, great grandchildren James, Heather, Isabella, Joaquin; daughter Bobbie and husband Rick, grandchild Jason; son Bill Loeffler and wife Kim, grandchildren Will, Scott, Joe, Jill and great grandchild Cooper; son Michael and wife Michele, grandchildren Heather and Danielle, son Patrick and wife Amy, grandchildren Anna Kate and Colin; daughter Ginny and husband Carlos, grandchildren CJ and Cameron.
