Robert P. Basher 79, loving father and grandfather passed away peacefully in his home surrounded by his family on April 5, 2022. Robert (Bob) was born June 9, 1942, son of Nellie and Norman Basher. After completing his GED he went on to help his father by working in the family business, Basher Electric. For the next 30 years Bob worked alongside his dad and brother Norman to not only build a business in Danbury but to give back in full to his community. Bob was a devoted husband, father, and friend. He spent the last years of his life caring for his wife of 50 years who passed in 2019. His love for her was unmatched. He cherished absorbing each and every minute he could with his children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. His infectious smile, booming laugh, warming hugs, and ‘whistling while he worked’ attitude will undoubtedly be missed by all.
Bob is survived by his loving children, Tammy Thibodeau, Shelly Shiffman (Steve), Robert J. Basher, Anisa Steine, and Dean Basher all of Georgia, and Tressa Kovacs (Alan) of Danbury, CT. He will be greatly missed by his grandchildren, Kayla Wedewer, Nicole Shiffman, Joshua Thibodeau, Tristan Basher, Ashley, AJ, Logan and Lynae Kovacs, Arabella and Dylan Steine, and Braxtyn Basher as well as his great grandchildren Collins Mae and Palmer Rose. Bob is also survived by his brothers Norman Basher of Danbury, CT and David Basher (Paula) of Aiken, SC and many beautiful nieces and nephews.
