Robert "Bob" Powers

Robert "Bob" Powers of Cumming passed away on Wednesday, March 11, 2015 at the age of 66. Bob was born in East Orange, NJ on May 29, 1948. Prior to retirement, he was a sales representative for Glenroy Company. Bob was a loving father, grandfather and avid sports fan. He attended Texas A & M University. Gig 'em! His hobbies included coaching all of his daughters through their childhood sports and restoring old cars. He also found pleasure in listening to his vinyl records even today. He is survived by his children Melissa (Craig) Rucks, Beavercreek, OH, Alyson (Zach) Abernathy of Braselton, GA, and Jennifer (Robb) Sutton of Milton, GA; brothers Bill (Mary) Powers of North Caldwell, NJ and Donny Powers of Bloomfield, NJ. Grandchildren include Ariyana and Maddox Abernathy and Daniel Sutton, and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held Saturday, March 14 at 11:00 a.m. in the Chapel of Ingram Funeral Home. Interment will follow at Sawnee View Gardens Cemetery. The family will receive friends at Ingram Funeral Home on Friday, 7:00 p.m.to 9:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be sent to the American Heart Association.
