Robert Julius Burruss, 90, a life-long resident of Forsyth County passed away Wednesday, July 8, 2020. Mr. Burruss was a man of very strong faith and had served as a Sunday School Teacher and Deacon of his church. He was a veteran of both the United States Army and the United States Air Force serving in Korea. Mr. Burruss is preceded in death by his parents, Major and Irene Burruss.
Survivors include his wife of 64 years, Martha McCleskey Burruss; children, Brenda (Terry) Bennett, Stephen Paul (Monique) Burruss, David Jason Burruss; grandchildren, Andrew Burruss, Rebecca Bennett, Seth Burruss; sisters, Betty Lester, Hazel Burruss; several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held Friday, July 10, at 1:00 p.m. at the Ingram Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Tim Samples and Rev. Craig Samples officiating. Interment will follow in the Cumming City Cemetery.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home Thursday from 4:00 to 9:00 p.m. and Friday from 11:00 a.m. until the time of the service.
