Robert Ernest Maxfield

Robert Ernest Maxfield, 96, of Stone Mountain, Georgia, passed away on January 22, 2022 in Cumming, Georgia.   Robert (Bob) was born in Dunbarton, New Hampshire to Ernest and Florence (McGuire) Maxfield in 1925.  He graduated from Goffstown (NH) High School ('42) and enlisted in the US Marine Corps. He saw service in the Pacific theater during WW2 and was involved in operations on Saipan, Iwo Jima, and Okinawa.  Bob married Joline Hackman in 1946 and raised 4 boys.   Bob's career in sales and manufacturing operations spanned over 40 years with the National Ideal Company and Insect-O-Cutor.  He was an active member of the Stone Mountain United Methodist Church for over 50 years and was also an avid volunteer providing service to a number of organizations including the Stone Mountain Rotary Club, Stone Mountain Cooperative and AARP.

Robert is preceded in death by his wife Joline, his brother Richard, and his son Patrick.   Robert is survived by his sons Stephen, Michael, and Jack.  He also leaves behind 7 grandchildren, and 5 great-grandchildren.
