Dr. Robert (Bob) Paul Yatto, age 67, of Fairfield Glades, Tennessee, died Tuesday, October 21, 2014, at Embracing Hospice, Cumming, Georgia. Robert Paul Yatto was born March 26, 1947 to Frederick E. Yatto, Sr and Selma Yatto Marquissee. He graduated from Nanuet High School, NY, and received his medical degree at the University of Bologna, Italy, in 1975. Following his medical training, he attended SUNY Health Science Center at Brooklyn and Long Island College Hospital for Internship, Residency, and Fellowship respectively before beginning his practice. Dr. Robert Yatto, was a Board Certified Gastroenterologist in Crossville, Tennessee where he had a private practice and was affiliated with Cumberland Medical Center. He was a member of the American Board of Internal Medicine for Internal Medicine and Gastroenterology. Dr. Yatto was cited and featured in numerous publications, including but not limited to American Journal of Gastroenterology, New York State Journal of Medicine, and Journal of Clinical Gastroenterology. Dr. Yatto was known to his colleagues, nurses, and patients as a compassionate, caring physician. He loved his patients, his community, and was a member of the Fairfield Glade First Baptist Church. He was an avid American Impressionist (artist) under the pen name of Henri Jatho. His works of art has been purchased by fans from all over the world. He would often contribute his art to galleries with all proceeds going to the Alzheimer's Association of Eastern Tennessee in honor of his wife, Dee. Bob enjoyed the outdoors, fishing, bird watching, cooking, restoring old model cars, and football (especially the NY Jets). He also enjoyed his seven grandchildren and was proud by their accomplishments. He was an adoring husband to Dee, who managed his medical practice until she was diagnosed with Alzheimer's and could no longer do so. He and Dee enjoyed traveling, taking walks, and looked forward to hummingbird season. Survivors include his wife Virginia Dee Yatto, three step-children, Kelli (Julius) Claypool of Kentucky, Staci (Michael) Schultz of Georgia, and Jason Smith of Florida; seven grandchildren, Brandi, Britni, Jordyn, Spencer, Dominic, Cooper, and Londyn; and one brother Thomas Yatto of New York. He was preceded in death by his parents and brother, Fred. A Celebration of Life Open House Memorial will be held on Saturday, November 1, 2014 at the Fairfield Glade First Baptist Church, 130 Towne Centre Way, Fairfield Glades (Crossville), TN between the hours of 4-6:00 p.m. Central Time.
