Robert R. Rodecker went into the arms of his Lord and Savior on April 10, 2023 after an extended illness. He was born July 2, 1928 in Sharon, Pennsylvania, the youngest child and only son of Anna Briggs Rodecker and Roy Rodecker. He graduated from Sharon High School and subsequently joined the Army, where he served in Korea. Upon returning home, he received his bachelor’s degree from Youngstown College and married his wife, the former Evelyn May Hackett, in 1951. The newlyweds lived in Philadelphia where he received his master’s degree at the Wharton School of Business, University of Pennsylvania. Robert and Evelyn built a home (doing all the work themselves) in Hubbard, Ohio, where they raised their four children: Stacia Jean Rodecker Roble (Dennis) of Cumming, GA; Richard Dennis Rodecker (Sue) of Cherryville, NC; Keith Alan Rodecker (Linda) of Houston, TX; and Beth Elaine Rodecker of Cumming, GA. After his retirement from Valley Mould and Iron Corporation in Hubbard, Ohio, Robert and Evelyn retired to Cumming, GA, where they again built a home by themselves. He and Evelyn travelled extensively and were involved in the bus ministry of Cumming First United Methodist Church.
Evelyn predeceased Robert on June 12, 2018. Robert is survived by four children and eight grandchildren.
