Robert Eugene Schafer

Robert Eugene Schafer, age 92, of Canton, GA passed away March 23, 2025. He was preceded in death by his parents, Clarence William Schafer & Elizabeth Margaret Krock Schafer, sister, Betty Lou Schafer & brother, Thomas Schafer. He was a proud class of 1959 graduate of Ohio State University, and served in the U.S.Army He was a member of Johns Creek United Methodist Church. Bob was a skilled woodworker and a master gardener. He loved to golf, fish, and slip his grandchildren dollar bills to “buy their love”. His primary aim was to create a loving and stable family, at which he was a wild success.

He is survived by his wife, Carolyn Louise Hay Schafer whom he married on December 27, 1956, son, William Robert Schafer (Elissa), daughter, Lynn Louise Traynor (Scott), grandchildren, Carson Schafer, Sara Taylor (Chad), Emmaline Schafer (Max Zhang), Audrey Traynor, and Miles Schafer.

Graveside funeral services are scheduled for 1:00 PM Tuesday, April 01, 2025, at Georgia National Cemetery, Canton Georgia.
