Roger Lynn Hensley

Roger Lynn Hensley, born June 10th 1945 in Kenvir, Kentucky, passed away March 30th, 2017 at Northside Forsyth Hospital in Cumming, GA. after bravely battling illness for several years.

He was a friend to all who met him, and to a very fortunate few, a husband, father, grandfather, brother, son, and uncle. Roger was reunited with his father and mother, Homer and Ruby M. Hensley, and his brother Clifford Hensley. He is survived by his loving sisters, Wanda Jean Cecil, Janice Faye Cox, Phyllis Epling and Crystal Francis.

Those lucky enough to be part of his immediate family are his wife and friend, Ruby J. Hensley; Children Shanda D. Moulder (Hensley), Michelle A. Hensley, David L. Hensley and Nicholas B. Hensley; Grandchildren Samantha N. Moulder, and Ryley and Liam Hensley. Any other children who met him were honorary grandchildren, as his love and patience for children was one of his greatest virtues. Father-in-law in spirit, to Gary L. Moulder, Stewart Gray and Holly Hensley who thought of him only as "DAD".

He was a proud member of Settendown Baptist Church who enjoyed children, people, church, family and Kentucky basketball, although not always in that order.Although well versed in many areas, he had a long career with Hoover Mfg. in Cumming as a measurements and gauges technician. He was also well known in the local baseball and softball community as the concessions man at Coal Mountain Park in Cumming, Ga.
