Roland William Bousquet age 90 of Cumming, Georgia, passed away Monday, July 11, 2016. Born in New Bedford, Massachusetts, Roland then lived in Hartford, Connecticut and the New England area where he met his wife, Gloria Louise Bonvouloir-Bousquet. The Bousquet family then relocated to the Clearwater, Florida area. Roland served in the United States Navy as an Aviation Crewman on PB-Y Catalina and PB-M Mariner seaplanes during WWII, primarily flying missions in the Pacific. During his service, Roland received the WWII Victory Medal and the Asiatic Pacific Medal. After Honorable discharge with the U.S. Navy, Roland continued work in the electronics field, most notably with Heathkit Electronics, Inc. where he acted as Store Manager in numerous locations throughout the U.S., and then as Retail Store Marketing & Design Manager, for 30 years before retiring in Franklin, North Carolina. Roland was preceded in death in 2014 by his wife Gloria, and is survived by his sons Richard Bousquet of Florida, Ronald Francis Bousquet of Flowery Branch, Georgia, and Raymond William Bousquet (Pamela Youdell-Bousquet, spouse) of Cumming, Georgia; his nephew, Thomas Sleepe of Fort Oglethorpe, Georgia; five grand-children: Ryan William Bousquet, Heather Renee Bousquet, Robert Roland Bousquet, Daniel William Bousquet, and Raymond Nicholas Bousquet, all of Georgia; as well as numerous great-nieces and great nephews. Ingram Funeral Home of Cumming, Georgia, is in charge of cremation and burial arrangements. The Funeral Mass will be celebrated Thursday, July 21, 2016 at Good Shepherd Catholic Church in Cumming, Georgia at 11:00 a.m. with Fr. Diosmar Natad presiding. Interment with military honors will immediately follow at 2:30 p.m. at the Georgia National Cemetery in Canton, Georgia. As Roland was an active member of the Knights of Columbus for over 50 years - and In lieu of flowers - the family has requested donations be made in Roland's honor to the Knights of Columbus Council #13161, for the Lee Aleksandrowicz Memorial College Scholarship fund.
