Rosalie Arlene Ward

It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Rosalie Arlene Ward on April 19, 2025. Arlene was born on August 22, 1938 in Baltimore, Maryland. Arlene made Atlanta her home in 1970. Over time, she became an active member of Good Shepherd Catholic Church and its Women's Council, as well as the Forsyth County Women’s Club.

Arlene will be remembered as a loving wife, mother and grandmother and great-grandmother who treasured her family above all else. She loved her grandchildren and great-grandchildren and was so proud of each of them. She enjoyed life's simple pleasures, particularly her Red Hat Society gatherings and spirited games of Mahjong with friends. Her gift for storytelling and warm presence made her beloved by all who knew her. Her legacy lives on through her family, her community contributions, and the countless stories she shared that brought joy to those around her.

In 2019, she was preceded in death by her husband James Ward, with whom she shared 50 years of devoted love.

Survivors include daughters, Kathleen Ann Pollard of Buckhead, Donna Jean (Alan) Killebrew of Roswell; grandchildren, Rebecca Ann Brune, Laura Elizabeth Cortiss, Brandon Michael Pollard, Ashley Brooke Clement, Patrick Clement; and 9 great-grandchildren.

Please join the family in the celebration of Arlene’s life at a Funeral Mass on Saturday, April 26, at 11:00 a.m. at Good Shepherd Catholic Church, 3740 Holtzclaw Road, Cumming, GA 30041 followed by a luncheon at the Church.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home Friday from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m.
