Mr. Roy Spoon Prather, age 76, of Cumming, passed away Friday, August 5, 2011. He retired from the AP Tea Company after 34 years of service as a forklift operator. Spoon is preceded in death by his parents, Dewey and Grace Prather; brothers, Eugene Prather, Lamar Prather and his special granddaughter, Bobbie McClure. Spoons favorite pastime was sitting on his back porch and attending cattle auctions. Survivors include his children, Michael Prather of Cumming, GA, Phyllis and Michael Jackson of Douglasville, GA, Susan and Craig ONeal of Dallas, GA, Ron and Renee Prather of Gainesville, GA; grandchildren, Scott, Heather, Ashley, Dusten; great grandchildren, Madelynn, Asher, Allen, Joshua; brothers and sisters-in-law, Robert and Mary Prather of Dalton, GA, E.C. Prather of Dawsonville, GA, Jerry and Leola Prather of Ranger, GA, sisters, Geraldine (Weldon) Payne of Cumming, GA, Joan Hubbard of Cumming, GA ; several nieces, nephews and other relatives. Funeral services will be held Monday, August 8, at 2:00 p.m. in the chapel of Ingram Funeral Home with Rev. Danny Bennett officiating. Interment will follow in Sawnee View Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends on Sunday from 12:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m., Monday from 9:00 a.m. until hour of service at the funeral home. Ingram Funeral Home Crematory, Cumming, Georgia is in charge of arrangements.
