Ruby Lucile McPherson

Ruby Lucile McPherson, age 96, of Canton, passed away Sunday, January 12, 2014. A member of New Harmony Baptist Church, Ruby was a loving mother and grandmother. She was a member and Past Worthy Matron of the Ducktown Chapter of the Order of the Eastern Star. Ruby was a God fearing woman who prayed for and took care of many in the community. She was an avid Atlanta Braves fan. Ruby is preceded in death by her husband, Golden McPherson; children, Ernest McPherson, James Harold McPherson; a brother, 3 sisters and 2 grandchildren. Survivors include her son and daughter-in-law, Charles and Tean McPherson of Cumming; daughter and son-in-law, Betty and James Adams of Jasper; son, Wayne McPherson of Jasper; son and daughter-in-law, Lamar and Pam McPherson of Franklin; brother and sister-in-law, James and Loza Watkins of Cumming; daughter-in-law, Llenell McPherson of Butler; 14 grandchildren; 24 great grandchildren; 6 great great grandchildren and other loving relatives and friends. Funeral services will be held Tuesday, January 14, 2013 at 3:00 P.M. at New Harmony Baptist Church with Reverend Johnny Purcell, and Reverend Danny Orr officiating. Interment will follow at New Harmony Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Monday, from 4:00 P.M. to 9:00 P.M. and on Tuesday, from 11:00 A.M. until the hour of service.
