Ruth V. Hurney

Ruth V. Hurney, 92, loving mother, grandmother and great grandmother peacefully passed away Friday, November 8, 2013 at Peachtree Christian Hospice in Duluth, GA. She was born in McKeesport, Pennsylvania on May 11, 1921 and was the youngest of ten children. She married Stephen J. Hurney after graduating from McKeesport High School and they were married 58 years. She was preceded in death by her husband Stephen Hurney and youngest son Bradley Hurney both in 1997. She is survived by five children: Claire Robbins, Paul Hurney, Mark Hurney, Greg Hurney and Keri Hurney as well as twelve grandchildren, twelve great grandchildren and one new great, great grandchild.

Ruth was a kind, selfless and loving woman. She had a gentle way of taking care of everyone without expecting a big thank you or recognition. She also had tremendous amount of faith and always believed that God will provide. She will be greatly missed by all who knew her.
A memorial service will be held at First United Methodist Church of Dacula on Saturday, November 23, 2013 at 2:30 pm followed by a small reception and celebration of life at the church.
In lieu of flowers the family requests donations be made to Peachtree Christian Hospice, 3430 Duluth Park Lane NW, Duluth, GA 30096.
