Sallie Corley Magyer

Sallie Corley Magyer departed this world on Friday, December 9, 2011 with her loving family at her side.

She is survived by her devoted husband of 32 years, Edwin Michael Magyer, adoring sons Joseph and Benjamin, and Joes lovely future wife, Irina Kogay. She also leaves behind her beloved older sister, Pamela Corley Callahan, identical twin and lifelong partner in hugs and rabblerousing, Susie Corley Beasley, and dear friends who warmed her life and shared many great adventures.

Standing at a towering 48, Sallie was best known for her beaming smile, fighting spirit, and a wholehearted love of her family. Her favorite times were spent at her familys cabin at Lake Burton, where her father taught her to bait a fish hook and she later taught her sons. She cherished her father, Gene, and made taking care of her mother, Martha, her first priority after Genes passing. She basked in the hustle and bustle of a home packed with growing boys and their friends, many of whom loved her like a second mother. She was so proud of her hardworking husband, who loved her dearly, and that the boys whose educations she invested so heavily in were both college graduates.

Sallie will be missed, but the love and laughs she shared will always leave their marks. A visitation will be held at Roswell United Methodist Church on Thursday at 2PM with a service following at 3PM. Dr. Malone Dodson, who married Sallie and Eddie, will officiate. In lieu of flowers please make contributions to your favorite charity.
