Sara Elizabeth Godfrey Curtis, born September 20, 1921 in Rabun Co., GA to Allen Frank and Ludie Kimsey Godfrey, died July 1, 2011 in Washington, GA. Funeral services will be held at Ingram Funeral Home in Cumming on July 3, 2011 at 4:00 pm with interment to follow at Sawnee View Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends at Ingram Funeral Home on Sunday from 1:30 pm until hour of service. She was preceded in death by her husband of 63 years, Carl B. Curtis; her daughter, Dee Anna C. Blalock; and her son, Carl B. Curtis, Jr. She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Linda C. and James M. Griggs, Jr. of Washington, GA; her son-in-law, James D. Blalock of Roswell; her grandsons and their wives, Ken and Susan Brown, Dalton; Ted and Dianne Brown, Winder; Jay and Amy Griggs and Jon and Noelle Griggs, Washington. She is also survived by her great-grandchildren, Jamie, Stryker, Laura Beth and Landon Brown; and Brennah, Maggie, Findlay and Ludie Griggs; sister-in-law, Dorothy Godfrey, Colorado Springs, CO; half-sisters, Isabelle Bradsher and Mary Bradley, Clayton; half-brother, Dick Godfrey, Clayton; and several nieces and nephews. Sara was a charter member of Cumming Baptist Church where she was active until her move to Washington. In lieu of flowers donations may be sent to Cumming Baptist Church Building Fund, P. O. Box 155. Cumming, GA 30028. Ingram Funeral Home Crematory, Cumming, Georgia is in charge of arrangements.
