Sara Ellen Holbrook

Sara Ellen Fowler Holbrook, age 80, of Cumming passed away May 19, 2012. Mrs. Holbrook was born on July 24, 1931, in Forsyth County. She was preceded in death by her husband of 59 years, Ivan F. Holbrook and parents, W. Guy Fowler and Mamie Allen Fowler. Mrs. Holbrook was a member of Pleasant Grove United Methodist Church in Cumming. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother who enjoyed gardening, cooking and being a homemaker. She was also an animal lover (especially her precious cats) and an avid antique glass collector. She is survived by her children, Janie Holbrook, Melinda and Travis Barrett, Andy and Joanne Holbrook, and Lorri H. Sosebee; six grandchildren, Jessica (Matt) Tanner, Emily Holbrook, Richard Barrett, Ellen Barrett, Kayla Sosebee and Luke Sosebee; four great-grandchildren, Ryleigh, Sadie, Olivia and Brooks. Mrs. Holbrook is also survived by three brothers, Bob and Myra Fowler of Marietta, Ga., Bill and Frances Fowler of Carrollton, Ga., and James and Pat Fowler of Powder Springs, Ga., a beloved aunt, Sarah A. Smith of Cumming, and sisters-in-law Hazel Holbrook and Ruth Holbrook. Several nieces, nephews and other relatives also survive. Visitation 3:00 to 9:00 p.m., Monday, May 21, 2012. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, May 22, 11:00 a.m. in the Ingram Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Danny Bennett, Rev. Rick Price, and Rev. Ted Miller officiating. Interment following in Sawnee View Memorial Gardens.
