Sarah Montene Allen Smith

Sarah Montene Allen Smith, age 87, passed away peacefully on April 20, 2016. She was born Sarah Montene Allen on December 5, 1928. Sarah worked for many years as a homemaker before she went to work as a kindergarten para-professional. She retired after working for many years at Lockheed as a blue print specialist. She loved her family. She loved attending family reunions and gatherings where she would always have stories to tell. Sarah had quite the memory. One of her greatest loves was watching her children, grandchildren, nieces and nephews playing sports of any kind. She was an enthusiastic and vocal supporter. Later in life, she enjoyed watching tennis. Sarah was a member of Coal Mountain Baptist Church. She loved to work in her yard and to shop. We are so thankful that our loving mother is resting peacefully in the arms of her Savior, Jesus Christ. She is preceded in death by her parents, J.B. and Addie Allen; sisters, Mamie Allen Fowler, Faye Allen Marjenhoff, Edna Louise Allen; brothers, Robert Allen, B.J. Allen, Leon Allen, Emory Hamilton Allen. She is survived by her sons, Jerry (Jane) Smith, Kevin (Leisa) Smith; grandsons, Jason Smith, Justin Smith, Christopher Smith; great granddaughters, Catelyn Smith, Mary Elizabeth Smith Funeral Services will be held on Saturday, April 23, 2016 at 11:00 AM, at Coal Mountain Baptist Church with Rev. Danny Bennett, Rev. Robert Martin, and Rev. Nicky Gravitt officiating. The interment will follow at Sawnee View Gardens. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Friday, April 22, 2016, from the hours of 1:00 PM until 4:00 PM, and from 6:00 PM until 9:00 PM.
