Shannon Earl Martin

Shannon Earl Martin, 49, of Cumming, passed away peacefully on Saturday, March 7, 2015. He is now walking pain free on the glorious streets of gold with his Lord and Savior. Born on November 25, 1965 in Georgetown, SC, a 1983 graduate of Stephens County High School, 1985 graduate of North Georgia Technical Institute. He has been employed with Industrial Repair Service for over 10 years. He was a devoted UGA football fan. Shannon is preceded in death by his parents, Richard Eugene Martin and Barbara Edle Johnson; sisters, Catherine Annette Martin, Melissa Mae Scarborough; first wife, Lona "Gayle" Rice Martin. He is survived by his wife, Dawn M Garrett-Martin; son, Zachary C Johns; brothers, Charles "Buck" and Trina Bowen, Quincy Adam Martin; step-mother, Elaine Alewine Martin; step-sons, Rusty and Ashley Turner, Craig Turner; grandchildren, Charlotte, Garrett, Philip, Ethan, Mia, Avalyn, Carah, Kaitlyn, Dillon, Emma; "mother-in-love", Martha Dean Garrett, father-in-law Howard and Polly Garrett and many special friends, nieces, nephews and his beloved church family. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, March 10, 2015 at 3:00 p.m. at Mt. Pisgah Baptist Church with Rev. Bo Robinson, Rev. Michael Cantrell and Rev. Edwin Puckett officiating. Interment will follow at Mt. Pisgah Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Monday, from 5:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. and on Tuesday, from 10:00 a.m. until the hour of service.
