After suffering for many years with multiple serious maladies, Sharon Lee (Sherry) Wuergler succumbed at long last to her illness and quietly returned home to her Heavenly Father on October 25, 2021. The ultimate cause of her death was massive multiple organ failure. She was 77.
Sherry's cherry temperament and sweet personality will be greatly missed.
Sherry had previously survived uterine, cervix and breast cancer contracted at different times in her later years along with also being afflicted with diabetes, Epstein Bar disease, diastolic heart failure, thyroid disease, as well as the long-lingering and incurable Lichen Sclerosis. Through all these debilitating illnesses, she was sustained by her firm faith in God and loved Him deeply and was especially comforted to know of the Plan of Salvation He has for His children to return to live with Him.
Sherry is survived by her adoring husband of more than forty-six years, Michael, and by four of her five children, nine of her grandchildren and two of her great-grandchildren: Debbie Lee Danhauer (Paul), Leah Michelle Wuergler, Michael Scott Wuergler (Tanya), and Mark Stephen Wuergler. Her oldest son, Todd preceded her in death and is survived by his wife Carolina Wuergler. Sherry's wonderful grandchildren are Christopher Howard, Brooke Bills (Devin), Sidney Howard, Samantha Rose (Austin), Max Danhauer, Jacob Wuergler, Avery Wuergler, Avonlea Wuergler and Milo Wuergler. Sherry also leaves behind her only sister, Joan Raney and her loving cousins Sally Spitzli and Judy Crews.
Sherry was an inspiration to many because of the way in which she conducted her life and, most especially, in the way she endured her many and varied illnesses. She was an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and served as a model of Christian womanhood to many young women of the Church. She graduated from Garinger High School in Charlotte, North Carolina where she was a Letter Girl (the letter "E"). She met her husband, Michael, in Los Angeles, California. They were married for time and all eternity in the Los Angeles Temple. Sherry was a fastidious housekeeper and had an eye for home design and décor. She couldn't get enough of home improvement shows on television and the beauty and comfort of her home reflected her taste and her bias for excellence in everything she did.
