Shawn Alan DePriest

Shawn Alan DePriest, age 49, passed away at his home in Georgia on Monday, January 6, 2025, surrounded by his family. Shawn was a devoted outdoorsman who found joy in hunting and fishing. He was committed to helping animals, especially Pit Bull rescue missions.

Born and raised in Mississippi, where many childhood memories were made, including pulling calves and riding hogs with his grandfather Ernest. Shawn later lived in Louisiana before making his home in Georgia. Known for his generous spirit, Shawn was the kind of person who would give you the shirt off his back.

Shawn is preceded in death by his maternal and paternal grandparents.

He is survived by his wife, Carla Ramey Alexander, and his children: Cody DePriest, Taylor Ramey, Nathan DePriest, Arrison Alexander, Ethan Westmoreland, Peyton DePriest, and Samuel Flippo. He also leaves behind his parents, Randy and Deborah DePriest; his grandchild, Reece DePriest; siblings, Chris DePriest (Laura) and April DePriest; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, and extended family members who will forever hold his memory close to their hearts.

A service to honor and celebrate Shawn’s life will take place on Sunday, January 12, 2025, at 4:00 PM at Sugar Hill Church, officiated by Rev. Neil Strong. Family and friends are invited to gather for visitation on Sunday, January 12, 2025, from 1:00 PM to 3:00 PM at Ingram Funeral Home.  Family and friends may gather at the family home, 1410 Mystic Ridge Place, for a meal and fellowship after the service.

Shawn’s loyalty and love for his family and community will continue to inspire all who knew him.
