Shirley Calvert Smith

Shirley Calvert Smith, age 79, of Cumming, Georgia passed peacefully on Thursday, December 30, 2021 surrounded by her family. She is a native of Maysville, Kentucky and a graduate of Maysville High School. She was born in 1942 to the late Charles & Mildred Calvert. In addition to her parents, she was preceeded in death by her husband of 47 years, Douglas Smith and her brothers Gene Gillespie, Gerry Calvert II, Jack Calvert, Jim Calvert and Bob Calvert.

She is survived by her children Steve (Tracy) Smith, Dave (Sandra) Smith and Susan (Michael) Wilson. 11 granchildren: Terri (Ryan), Tony, Joshua, Evan, Ashley, Nathan (Paige), Katey, Justin, Ciera, Cidney & Carter 8 great-grandchildren: Jayce, Rowan, Liam, Avery, Maddox, Nahla, Lemoura & Wyatt

Shirley was a member of Concord Baptist Church in Cumming Georgia. She was a homemaker, office administrator, loving mother, a devout Christian, and friend to many. But the role she enjoyed the most was being a Nana to her family.

A memorial service will be held, Saturday, January 15, 2022 at 4:00 p.m. in the chapel of Ingram Funeral Home in Cumming, GA, with Dr. Scott Gilbert and Ryan Bennett officiating. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Saturday from 12:00 noon until the hour of service.
