Shizuko “Suzi” Arakaki Enskat, age 85, of Suwanee Georgia, passed away on Saturday February 26, 2022 at home. She was preceded in death by her mother Yoshi Arakaki, her Father Eisho Arakaki, her brother Eishin Arakaki, and sister Fumiko Tamanaha Gowder.
She is survived by her husband of 51 years Albert Enskat of Suwanee Georgia. Her brothers Eiko Arakaki and Minoru China of Okinawa, Japan. Her Son Kiyokazu Yamanoha and his wife Satsuko of Okinawa, Japan. Her daughters Tina Enskat, Lisa Enskat-Brummette and her son-in- law Bradley Brummette of Suwanee, Georgia. She is also survived by eight grandchildren Naoki Arakaki, Kiyomi Kinjo, Ayano Higa, Kazuhi Uehara, Sayaki Onishi, Bryce Enskat, Braden Brummette and Brayleigh “Evie” Brummette, and 11 great grandchildren.
She was a generous and loving grandmother. She survived the invasion and bombing of Okinawa, Japan during WWII. She married Albert in 1971 in Okinawa, Japan after his several deployments to Vietnam. She was a faithful and globetrotting Army wife with twenty years of service. She became a US citizen in 1974. She enjoyed driving, sewing, crocheting, playing solitaire, bingo, and slot machines.
A memorial service will be held at Ingram’s Funeral Home Chapel in Cumming, Georgia at 11:30 a.m. on Tuesday March 8, 2022. A visitation will be held at Ingrams Funeral Home on Monday March 7, from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Both will be open to friends and family. Shizuko will be interned at the Georgia National Cemetery in Canton, Georgia at 2:00 p.m.
