Stafford E. Bice

Stafford E. Bice, age 72, of Cumming, GA entered into rest on Tuesday, September 24, 2019 while traveling in Colorado. He was the husband of Sandra Johns Bice. Stafford was born in Clanton, Alabama on April 16, 1947, son of the late Preston Bice and Lucille Scott.

He earned his Bachelor of Science degree in Mathematics from Jacksonville State University and his Master of Business Administration degree in Finance from the University of New Haven. He was a career IT professional at Olin Corporation and Arch Chemicals for many years before his retirement. He was a technologist at heart and was drawn to the challenge of solving complex problems, particularly through computer programming. He was an avid reader of science and philosophy, along with sci-fi novels. He was a TV and movie buff who loved anything from the BBC or Masterpiece Theater about England or Scotland. He was a son of the South and always took pride in his southern roots.

He cherished spending time with his family. He is the beloved father of Preston Lee Bice and his wife Sandra, Stafford Ebert Bice II, and loving grandfather of Jonathan and Gina Bice. He is also survived by one sister, Gail Crosthwait and her husband Bob, in-laws, Henry and Roselyn Bobo, Ron and Frankie Hand, and several nieces and nephews.

Memorial services will be held Thursday, October 3, 2019 at 11:00 a.m. at the Ingram Funeral Home Chapel with Dr. Bob Jolly officiating. The family will receive friends at the funeral home the hour prior to the service.
