Stanley Darnell, age 72, passed away December 13, 2014. Stanley was a graduate of Forsyth County High School and served in the U.S. Navy. He attended Coal Mountain Baptist Church. Stanley was an avid sports fan. He especially enjoyed football as he played in high school and also coached youth football. Stanley's son, Scott, preceded him in death on November 3, 2014. Other family members preceding him are his parents, George and Cecile Darnell, stepmother Katherine Darnell, two nephews Dan and Richard Darnell, and in-laws Weldon and Dean Corn. Stanley is survived by his wife of 51 years Sue Darnell, son Steve and Melissa Darnell, daughter in law Janice Darnell, and three grandchildren Kayla, Brice and Sophia Darnell. Also surviving are his brother and sister in law Lewis and Hazel Darnell, brother in law and sister in law Billy and Joan Waters, and Melissa's children TC and Joshua Hubbard. Nieces and nephews also survive. Visitation will be December 14, 2014 at Ingram's Funeral Home from 5:30 - 8:30 p.m. The body will be open for public viewing on December 15, 2014 at 9:00 a.m. until service time. The service will be December 15, 2014 at 11:00 a.m. in the Ingram's Funeral Home chapel with Rev. Danny Bennett and Rev. Alan Sutton officiating. There will not be a graveside service but interment will follow at Sawnee View Gardens. Ingram Funeral Home & Crematory, Cumming, Georgia is in charge of arrangements.
