Stella Virginia Brewer Barden Burts, beloved Sister, Wife, Mother, Grand Mother, Great Grand Mother and Great Great Grand Mother left her daughters home in Gainesville on January 16th to be with The Lord. Stella is survived by her loving and devoted husband of 43 years, F. Ward Burts, Jr, of Gainesville, children Howell (Lane) Barden of Cumming, Cheryl (Gary) Wigley of Gainesville, Alan (Carolyn) Barden of Max, ND, 12 grandchildren, 30 great grandchildren, 2 great great grandchildren, brother Jeff (Fay) Brewer of Atlanta and numerous nieces and nephews. Rev. Bradley Elliott will conduct grave side services at West View Cemetery in Atlanta on January 18th, 2014, at 1 o'clock. Mother was born at home in the West End area of Atlanta on December 2nd, 1922. She attended Commercial High School. Mother was a telephone operator, then worked for Bell Bomber during WWII, and then later at American Foods, US Rubber and the State Court of Fulton County where she was Appeals Clerk until retirement. During her life Stella volunteered at Atlanta area nursing homes on weekends and loved her work with Eastern Star, proudly serving as Worthy Matron of Martha Chapter 128 in 1965-66. Stella and Ward were members of Peach State Ramblers and enjoyed traveling the nation with their friends. Our family expresses our sincere appreciation to the people of HomeInstead Senior Care and Affinis Hospice for their loving kindness, care and attention to our mother.
