Sue Darnell

Sue Darnell, 80, went peacefully to be with the Lord on Friday, October 13, 2023.  Sue was born in 1943 to the late Weldon and Dean Corn.  She was a graduate of Forsyth County High School and attended Brenau College as a music major.  Sue was a talented pianist with a beautiful soprano voice.  She spent several years with the Forsyth County School District as a paraprofessional providing instructional support to many students.  The latter part of her career was spent in the medical field in office administration.  A member of Coal Mountain Baptist Church, Sue loved her church and her church family.  She was a wonderful wife, mother, and grandmother.  She will be missed greatly!

In addition to her parents, Sue was preceded in death by her husband of 51 years, Stanley Darnell, her son Scott Darnell, and her sister Joan Waters.  Sue is survived by her son Steve and Melissa Darnell, daughter-in-law Janice Darnell, grandchildren Kayla and Donald Garcia, Brice Darnell, and Sophia Darnell.  Additionally, she is survived by one great granddaughter Leia Garcia and Melissa’s children T.C. and Joshua Hubbard.  A number of nieces and nephews also survive.

Funeral services will be held Tuesday, October 17, 2023 at 2 p.m. in the Ingram Funeral Home Chapel.  The family will receive visitors from 10 a.m. – 2 p.m. at the funeral home prior to the service.  Reverend Danny Bennett and Reverend Gary Martin will officiate the service.  Interment will follow at Sawnee View Gardens.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Coal Mountain Baptist Church or Gideon’s International.
