Suryakant “Sunny” Ganeshbhai Patel

Suryakant “Sunny” Ganeshbhai Patel passed away on the morning of the 21st of November,2022, at the age of 83.  After nearly a year of fighting stage 4 lung cancer, Sunny found peace surrounded by his immediate family.

Suryakant was born in Viramgam, India to Ganeshbhai Harjivandas Patel and Rai Ben Patel and had seven siblings. He was wedded to his wife, Sarojben Patel, whom he had two children with- Hemal and Radhika Patel. To open more opportunities for his family, Sunny relocated his family to North Carolina, before the family moved to their current place in Atlanta, where he sustained his position as a Deli Clerk for over 20 years.

Sunny is the grandfather of three grandchildren- Ayesha, Aum, and Arav, and the father-in-law to Arti Patel and Sudhir Patel. The dynamic of his relationship with his family and friends can be expressed simply through his name being Sunny. His motto in life was to be in the moment, to let the circumstances you cannot control roll off, and to strive to find the pleasures that will be of service to those around.

Sunny’s special relationship with each individual shows his presence and care for all of those he interacted with. He will be greatly missed for kind and uplifting essence, but his generosity and mission to spread smiles will be embodied by all of those who knew him.
