Susan "Sue" Gauger Pearlman

Susan "Sue" Gauger Pearlman, age 74, of Johns Creek, GA, passed away Wednesday, September 1, 2021, after a heroic seven-year battle with cancer. She died at home surrounded by her family and beloved pets.

Sue was born April 4, 1947, in Arcadia, to Shirley (Shaver) and Robert Gauger. She married Edwin "Ed" Pearlman, June 19, 1982, in Whitehall. Sue was fond of animals, especially dogs. She and Ed provided a loving home for nine dogs over the course of their nearly 40 years together. She is profoundly missed by Charlie and Lucy Pearlman, the two most recent objects of this affection. She is also missed by her "grand-dog," Harvey, who knew her as the "Treat Lady."

Sue graduated from Whitehall Memorial High School in 1965 and was class valedictorian. Following and education in mathematics/statistics at UW-Eau Claire, Sue spent the following 45 years as an information technology professional. She worked on various high-profile projects for IBM, was a leader in IT management for UFL and Fortis Family, developed a three-time national recognized web presence for her home city of Johns Creek, and operated her own web business, Solutions in Toto, named after another one of her loving dogs.

In her retirement, Sue stayed in touch with her many loved ones and friends through her daily "Happy Notes," lighthearted and often funny messages that helped people focus on what's important in life. She went on to send more than 1,750 of these "five-second smiles to add to your day," as Sue would say, and continued publishing them into her final days. http://www.suesapron.com/notes.html

Sue is survived by her husband, Ed; and son Paul; stepchildren: Mitchell (Rechelle) Pearlman; and grandchildren, Nathan (Anamarie), Nick and Natalie Pearlman; as well as her siblings: Charles (Kathy) Gauger and Nancy Hagan.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her stepdaughter, Deborah Pearlman and her brother-in-law, Leo Hagan.

Ed and Paul will return to Whitehall where family will gather to scatter her ashes. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions be made to Henry County Humane Society, 46 Work Camp Rd, McDonough, GA, 30253. www.henryhumane.com
