Susan Rae Downey

Susan Rae Downey, dearly loved wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend passed away peacefully at her home in Suwanee on April 26th, 2022. She was born November 18, 1945, in Du Quoin, Illinois to the late Richard and Anita Peters.

She is survived by her devoted husband of 54 years, John Downey, her children Richard Downey and Jennifer Downey, her sister Patricia Jent and her two wonderful grandchildren, Christina Downey and Dylan Downey-Julian.

Sue attended Southern Illinois University. After college, she was an active member of Beta Sigma Phi and later, The Red Hat Society. Sue loved her family, the beach and her cats. She was a fan of rock and roll music, especially The Rolling Stones. She will be greatly missed in life. Until we meet again.
