Sybil Joan Akins

Sybil Joan Akins, age 83, of Forsyth County, went home to be with Jesus on April 19^th, 2024.  She was saved, baptized and a member of Riverside Baptist Church of Sugar Hill, GA.  She worked at Ladd and Dad Pants Factory, Macklanburg and Duncan where she retired after 24 years of service. After retiring, she went to work at Wal-Mart and retired again after 15 years of service.

 She loved her family, her church family, and her cats.  Sybil also enjoyed working in her flower garden and watching the wildlife.  She was a loving mother and a sweet friend to all.

 The family would like to extend a special thank you to all the Doctors and Nurses at Northside Forsyth Hospital for taking care of her during her illness.

 She was preceded in death by her husband, Winfred Akins; parents, George and Johnnie Wood; siblings, Billy Wood, Sarah Pass.

 She is survived by her children, James Akins, Lisa (Ricky Brown) Sheriff, Matthew Akins, Mark (Becky) Akins; grandchildren, Amanda Shackelford, Josh Akins, Cynthia Brock, Amber Sheriff Chumbler, Zachary Sheriff, Ross Akins, Eli Akins; great grandchildren, Rachel Bailey, Mikey Bailey, Brittany Brock, Peyton Shackelford, Alaska Shackelford, Sky Shackelford, Elias Akins, Areia Sheriff, Bethany Sheriff, Lila Sheriff, Parker Sheriff; great great grandchildren, Daniel Bailey, Luke Yates, Colton Bailey; brother, Douglas (Janice) Wood; sister-in-law, Melba Mason; brother-in-law, Lanier (Shelia) Akins; several in-laws, nieces, nephews also survive.

 Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, April 23^rd, 2024, at 1:00 PM, in the chapel of Ingram Funeral Home with Rev. Mark Akins, Rev. James Akins, Rev. Ruel Martin, and Rev. Eddie Caine Sr, officiating.  The interment will follow at Sawnee View Gardens.  The family will receive friends on Monday, April 22^nd, 2024, from 10:00 AM until 9:00 PM, and again on Tuesday from 9:00 AM until the hour of service.
