Sylvia J. Gilbreath, loving wife, devoted stepmom and kind friend passed away Wednesday June 27, 2018.
Sylvia was born to Hugh S. and Geraldine (Wilson) Adcock on July 27, 1944 in Bainbridge, Georgia. She married her best friend, Terry E. Gilbreath on May 28, 1992 in Clayton, Georgia.
Sylvia graduated from St. Petersburg High School and continued her education in St. Petersburg, Florida. She and her husband, Terry, moved to Georgia in 1995. They have resided in Suwanee, GA for over 20 years.
Sylvia tested software for computers in Florida as well as Georgia. She finished her career with UPS as a software tester.
Sylvia loved her husband, family and friends. She loved to work in the yard and garden/landscape, bluegrass music, to cook, and her beautiful home she lovingly shared with her husband and beautiful kitties, Rosie, Sammie, Smokey, and Pusha.
Sylvia was the most thoughtful, caring, kind, generous, loving, and genuine person. She would always think of others and make the best of any situation. She lived her life fully and always looked for the best in everyone. She was a one of a kind Angel here on earth, and had a heart of gold. She will be terribly missed by friends and family who loved her to the moon and back, forever and always.
Sylvia was preceded in death by her parents Hugh S. Adcock and Geraldine (Wilson) Adcock, her brother Fred Adcock. She is survived by her husband Terry Gilbreath, Step-daughters Lisa and Beth Gilbreath, her brother Buddy Adcock and many nieces and nephews.
A graveside service will be held on Tuesday, July 3, 2018, 12:00 noon at Rainbow Memorial Park, 1440 West Grand Avenue, Gadsden, AL 35904. As an expression of sympathy, memorial contributions may be sent to the SPCA.
