November 30, 1941 — May 30, 2024

Taylor E. Hoynes Jr.

Taylor slipped away peacefully onto Jesus arms May 30, 2024 with his family by his side. He lived a great life, and he loved his Savior!

He was born November 30, 1941 in Columbia, SC. He graduated from Northside High School in 1960, and worked for his father at Colonial Films & Eq. Co. in Atlanta, GA. He married Molly Joiner on January 28, 1961 and they were married for 58 years until she passed in 2019. He was preceded in death by his sweetheart, wife, and mother of his five children Molly (Joiner) Hoynes who passed away exactly five years ago to the day on May 30, 2019, his father Taylor Hoynes Sr. and mother Genevieve (nee Sullivan) Hoynes, and sister Lynn Hoynes. He is survived by his sister Peggy Hoynes, and his 5 children - Taylor “Chip” (wife Richelle) Hoynes, Michael (wife Allison) Hoynes, Susan (husband Alan) Warner, Matthew (wife Julie) Hoynes and Joshua Hoynes. He has 38 grandkids and great-grandkids.

Taylor always put God, Family, and Country first in life and instilled that in his entire family. Having accepted Christ as his Lord and Savior in 1972 he lived to see all of his kids and grandkids accept Jesus and be baptized. Taylor’s passion was American history with focus on Our Founding Fathers writing’s; which he wrote many textbooks on. His other passion was the outdoors which he instilled the love of the forest and the sea in all his kids. Hunting and fishing were a way of life for his family.

He remained close friends with his original school mates from Northside High in Buckhead. His best friend was Mickey Eves, and they had lunch together every week spending 3-4 hours together and Mickey is an example of true lifelong friendship.
