Dougal, Theresa (Terry), age 87, a resident of Cumming, GA passed away the morning of February 3, 2017 at the Gardens of Shiloh Point. She was the youngest of nine children of Salim and Anna Habib, immigrants from Lebanon who settled in the Pennsylvania coal town of Shenandoah Heights, PA. It was there she studied nursing and met her husband of almost 50 years, Alvin Dougal, Sr. (deceased 2002). After a brief stint working at John's Hopkins Hospital in Baltimore, Terry settled down with Al in Levittown, PA where she worked in the offices of Drs. Lane and DiRienzo while Al owned and operated the Windsor Barber Shop. After retirement she and Al enjoyed traveling together but her greatest joy was being surrounded by her extended family when they gathered at their home. Together they raised five children: Mary Dougal (deceased 2016), Susan DeSilva, Rose Ward, Alvin Dougal Jr. and Anne Dougal. In 2001, Terry and Al moved to Marietta, GA and enjoyed an extended family arrangement with her son Alvin and his family. Terry was active at the Cobb County Senior Center where she enjoyed a good game of Canasta, Transfiguration Catholic Church where she was a parishioner for 10 years, the Red Hat Society and Mountain View Aquatic Center, where she met many great friends. Terry also lived with family in Santa Fe, NM before rejoining Al and Charlene first in Pittsburgh PA and, for the last four years, Cumming Ga. Terry is survived by her sister June Halye of Huntsville, AL, her sister-in-law Rose Marie Dougal of Bensalem, PA, daughters Susan DeSilva of Belle Mead NJ (Spouse Dr. Derrick DeSilva Jr.), Rose Ward of Highlands Ranch, CO (spouse Dr. David Ward), Anne Dougal of Bethlehem PA and son Alvin of Cumming, GA (spouse Charlene Dougal). Terry also has five grandchildren Mira Lopez of Santa Fe, NM (spouse Andrew Lopez), Derrick DeSilva III of Harrison, NJ(spouse Jill DeSilva), Travis DeSilva of Harrision NJ, Rachel Dougal of Cumming, GA and Charlie Dougal of Cumming GA. In addition, she is survived by one great-grandchild Derrick DeSilva IV. Family will receive visitors at Ingram Funeral Home in Cumming, GA on Friday, February 10th between 6:00 - 8:00 PM. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Good Shepherd Homes - Long Term Care @ www.goodshepherdrehab.org/sweetcharity. A funeral Mass will be held on Saturday February 11th at 12 noon at St. Brendan the Navigator Catholic Church in Cumming. A graveside ceremony will conclude all services at 3:00 PM Saturday February 11th, at Kennesaw Memorial Park in Kennesaw, GA where she will be laid to rest beside her beloved husband.
